Luminol is a well-known and widely used method for the detection of blood at a crime scene, even if the blood is invisible to the human eye. It can be used to locate very dilute blood in areas where someone has attempted to wash away the blood. Luminol is also useful to help detect and visualize previously invisible bloody footwear impressions at crime scenes. When Luminol is sprayed on a suspected area, it will glow a white/blue when it comes in contact with blood in a darkened room (UV lamp not required). The resulting pattern can then be photographed.
Luminol can be difficult to use in the field because of the tedious measuring and mixing required. Our Luminol Blood Detection Reagent Powder comes in premeasured vials for quick, no mess mixing. Simply take one vial, add to distilled water, shake gently, and spray the suspected area with a pump sprayer or spray head. Each box contains 6 vials of powder and is available in three sizes to make 4 oz, 8 oz, or 16 oz bottles of spray.
Note: Though not usual, depending on the quantity ordered, this item may require an additional hazardous shipping charge be added. We will contact you if this is the case.
