Versatile & Easy to Use
DeconGel is extremely versatile, for use on virtually any surface such as concrete, steel, painted or unpainted wood, aluminum, plexiglass, tile and grout, linoleum, and more. It’s easily sprayed or brushed onto any of these contaminated surfaces.
Drying Time
Drying time depends on a combination of ambient humidity, temperature, type of substrate, and applied wet film thickness, but drying can take as little time as one hour (for thin coats in a dry place with plenty of airflow) to overnight or longer (if thicker coats are applied in humid environments). Using fans, heat, and/or a dehumidifier can speed up drying time. Once dry, DeconGel peels easily and the film containing the encapsulated contamination can be disposed of according to appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
Minimized Waste Generation
DeconGel is a safe alternative to acids or soap and water. Large volumes of water are not needed with DeconGel, so there is no need to worry about contaminated run-off. The peelable polymer offers minimal compaction compared to other solutions and eliminates liquid by-product.

Recommended Uses
DeconGel is recommended for decontamination of radioisotopes as well as particulates, heavy metals, and water-soluble and insoluble organic compounds (including tritiated compounds). The hydrogel coating can be applied to horizontal, vertical, and inverted surfaces and can be applied to most surfaces including concrete (bare, coated, and painted), aluminum, steel, rubber, lead, plexiglass, herculite, wood, porcelain, tile grout, and floor tiles (vinyl, ceramic, and linoleum).
