The Mystaire Powder and Ninhydrin Fingerprint Workstation is the first system designed specifically for the development of latent fingerprints with both powders and ninhydrin. With worker safety as a priority, Mystaire developed a system that is highly effective at reducing the potential for exposure to these common forensic chemicals. Internal fans draw a constant flow of air into the system. A combination of filters work together to contain powders and vapors before returning clean air to the lab. The workstation is built from steel and protected with a glossy, easy-to-clean finish. The sides and front panels are acrylic, allowing you to clearly see your evidence. A 2-year warranty is included with each fingerprint workstation. The Mystaire Powder and Ninhydrin Fingerprint Workstation requires one particle filter and one main filter (HEPA or Gas Phase for Hydrocarbons) for operation. One particle filter is included with each unit; main filters are available for purchase separately.
The main filter should be selected based on how the unit will be used. For applications involving powders or dry particulates, a HEPA filter should be used. If chemicals and solvents will be used, a hydrocarbon filter must be used. Main filters are interchangeable; however, the particulate pre-filter should be changed whenever switching between a HEPA or hydrocarbon filter. Particulate pre-filters should also be changed upon low airflow.
